The International Esperanto Youth Festival (or ‘Internacia Junulara Festivalo’, IJF, in Esperanto) is back after an inevitable two-year break. The festival is one of the most important Esperanto youth conventions in Europe and is run by the Young Italian Esperantists (IEJ).

This year, the festival will take you to a region which has not hosted IJF for a good 15 years: Friuli Venezia-Giulia. It’s an ideal place for sports and nature lovers, gourmets and culture vultures, promising an unforgettable experience.

We will spend seven days over Easter, from 13th to 19th April 2022, at Bella Italia Dolomiti, a wonderfully inviting holiday complex with fantastic sports facilities.

Bella Italia Dolomiti is easy to run by bus or car, and we will also provide a shuttle bus to and from the international airports of Venice, Trieste and Treviso. It is the perfect venue for the IJF programme, made up of lectures, courses, workshops, discussions, games and concerts. Moreover, there are various sports pitches and a 25-metre swimming pool available for participants to use! As always, this year’s IJF stands out with its varied programme, made up of three parts:

• Themed programme. Shaped around the theme chosen for each festival, with numerous lectures, workshops and seminars; 
• Tourist programme. The highlight is the half and full-day excursions which set out to show participants the best of northern Italy; 
• Leisure programme. Diverse medley of events not related to the official programme, e.g. games, dances, international evenings, concerts and disco with a bar (for those who like to let their hair down) and a chill room providing peace and quiet for those who prefer to chat over hot drinks.
