The theme chosen for the IJF 2023 is The witness of Esperanto among the youth sections

The theme of this edition was decided on the basis of the experiences of some IEJ estraranojs during the past year; with the pandemic gradually decreasing and the return to travel around the world between the various Esperanto festivals and meetings, many of the people who had their first contacts with Esperanto via the web and video calls were finally able to get to know each other live, create new friendships or consolidate those created on the net.

In this way, many young people were able to understand the quantity of young people really present in the movement and, driven by this, they undertook to re-found or expand the youth sections of their country thanks to the experiences acquired.

During the festival, you will have the opportunity to learn first-hand the stories of many of these groups and members and how they contribute to giving Esperanto an importance that goes beyond that of a simple language for communicating.
